On the renormalization of the electroweak chiral lagrangian with a Higgs

(Théorie des Interactions Fondamentales)


Sommaire:

We consider the off-shell renormalization of the scalar sector of the
effective electroweak Lagrangian for a dynamical Higgs, up to four
derivatives in the chiral expansion. We determine the complete set of
independent chiral invariant scalar counterterms required for
consistency, which include bosonic operators often disregarded, and we
obtain new apparent non chiral-invariant counterterms involving the
Higgs particle and the longitudinal components of the gauge bosons. A
new general parametrisation of the latter is proposed. The physical
results translate into renormalisation group equations which may be
useful when comparing future Higgs data at different energies.
